Competition - Plovdiv Central Square
|
The Municipality of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, launched a competition for the main square of the city, where important periods of history meet. The most important is the ancient Roman Forum which is already partially excavated.
The proposal creates conditions for the socialization between people and ruins to create a new identity, a new square with two levels. The contemporary square level and the archaeological level. These are connected by two rings that create a high and fluid path, which serves not only as a passage, but also as a cover for various activities, such as temporary art exhibitions or fairs.
