Competition - Housing, Cascais
It is proposed two buildings, one of family housing that closes volumetrically the block of urbanization of Quinta da Bela Vista and another, on the interior of the lot, for student residence.
This gesture turned up into a 5-storey L-shaped building which has a curved surface body at the point of union of the two divergent wings, cast in the central area on the ground floor which allows pedestrian access to the interior of the lot and a high impact visual axis to and from the outside.
This is why the student residence proposal was developed on only two floors, in order to ensure clear views and lighten the building mass inside the site.
The interior of the terrain was designed to harmoniously cohabitate with the student residence, which has a built-in volume on the ground floor and another floor with green-roof, accessible through a ramp. The main building has a flat, green and accessible coverage to extend the perception of the green area. The solution for car, motorcycle and bicycle parking was mostly located in the basement of the family housing building.
The whole proposal is intrinsically linked to the logic of fluidity and experiential continuity and the visual dialectic between them.
