Project in Pankese, Gana
This is a play equipment/all-purpose space project in an elementary school at Ghana, Africa. The site is located 3 hours north by car from Accra, the capital of Ghana.
In this school, there were only 4 classroom buildings, buildings for kitchen and toilet and football ground. Here we proposed play equipment for small children and all-purpose space for all members of the school.
This structure is HP shell made of wood. It has openings toward 4 directions and east-west openings are closed and north-south openings are widely open because the site is located at the equator line. The roof has 2 direction timbers for children to climb up.
The 17 school member, 3 carpenters, volunteers and children executed the construction. Site investigation, design, construction were done in 2 weeks.
